"Mitchell et al. (2012) proposed that the eastern margin of the MMBand the Slate Belt (Mergui Group) was the Paung Luang- Mawchi Zone (PMZ), which they interpret as a possible pre- Permian suture. This zone consists of folded Late Jurassic–mid- Cretaceous marine clastic sedimentary rocks and limestones. LITHOLOGY Mainly schists and gneisses, equivalants ti Mogok Series (?). Mitchell et al. (2007) proposed two metamorphic events along the MMB: an Early Permian and an Early Cretaceous event. Based on detailed field relationships for the MMB in quarries from Kyanikan south to Tatkon, Mitchell et al. (2007). "
