It flourished in the Carboniferous Period and became extinct in the late Permian Period, and is a tree-shaped plant fossil discovered along with coal. It is an old tree that is close to the modern horsetail species and reaches a height of 10m. There are nodes on the stem, and each node is surrounded by about 25 long, thin leaves. It is a fossil distributed throughout the world, and its remains are also a raw material for coal.
