Paleontology (Fossil)
Lepidodendron is the general name for fossil ferns found in layers all over the world. It flourished during the Carboniferous period of the Paleozoic Era and became extinct during the Permian period. The places where the leaves have fallen are arranged densely like scales, making them look like the scales of snake skin, so they are called blackthorn. As it grew into a large tree reaching 30m in height and 2m in thickness, its branches and roots split into two successively. It is produced from the upper Paleozoic stratum near Dogye Mining Station.
