Locality
Tachileik area, Tachileik township, Eastern Shan state. In Tachileik area. Eastern Myanmar is the key position linking between SW Yunnan and northern Thailand for better understanding of Tethyan evolution. However, the actual location and evolution of the Tethyan suture zone are still unclear in eastern Myanmar (Sai Naing Lin Aung Nov,2023 (paper)). The Mergui Group in the Shan Scarps has been divided into a lower Kogwe Mudstone Formation, and an upper Poklokkale Pebbly Wacke Formation (Internet).
