Basaltic Lava Flow, Mt.Popa, Kyaukpadaung Township, Mandalay Region.
Olivine-Basalt is from one of the miner flows of the present Mount Popa and is found to the north of the crater where the wall has been entirely blown away. This description commpares perfectly with the recent olivine-basalts of the Twindaung type from the Lower Chindwin and Mount Popa areas. Olivine basalt occurs as massive boulders, greyish-green coloured, fine grained and highly jointed.
