The Lower Palaeozoic rocks are made up of the Molohein Group, which are predominantly arenaceous and argillaceous strata with subordinate calcareous sediments, deposited in a shallow-marine environment, and the Pindaya Group, phacoidal and argillaceous limestones, calcareous mudstone, argillaceous and arenaceous rocks (Mibayataung Group). Lithology of Lower Paleozoic area in Southern Shan state is orange siltstone & mud stone, grey burrowed dolomitic silty limestone, deep yellow siltstone, mudstone.
