Limestone and mudstone appear as arc layers. The bright rock is limestone, a sedimentary rock whose main ingredient is calcium carbonate. It is white, gray or dark gray, or black in color and forms lumps or layers. The dark rock is mudstone, a rock formed from hardened clay. When silt is more than clay, it is called silt rock, and when clay is more than silt, it is called clay rock.
