"The later Eocene Pondaung Formation is distributed in the Minbu Basin of the Western Inner-Burman Tertiary Basin, which is characterized by synclinal structure (Salin Syncline). The Pondaung Formation is mainly composed of terrestrial mudstone, sandstone and conglomerate and is subdivided lithologically into a Lower Member and Upper Member (Aye Ko Aung 1999)."
