"Leaf fossils occur in sandstone of Irrawaddy formation. The Lithology of Nay Pyi Taw area is sedimentary rocks of Ologone formation and Irrawaddy formation.The sedimentary sequence consists of the Kyaukkok Formation (518 m), the Obogone Formation (425 m), a diamictite unit and the Irrawaddy Formation (276 m); these units are overlain unconformably by Quaternary deposits. Intermittent volcanism occurred during the Pliocene. Subordinate amounts of volcanic rocks are interfingering with and overlying the Irrawaddy sediments. LITHOLOGY : Sandstone Interbedded with thin shale. "
