South of Myitnge River, a gentle restraining bend takes the fault trace through metasedimentary rocks of the Chaung Magyi Group. Slate, phyllite and quartzite are alos consit of the Chaung Magyi. On the Shan Plateau, quartzites, slates and phyllitic rocks of the Chaung Magyi Group (Late Precambrian–Cambrian) contain gold mineralization as at Phayaung Taung located 25 km NE of Mandalay.
