Myint Lwin Thein (1973) proposed the term Mibayataung Group for a sequence of Silurian rocks with its type locality at Mibayataung, south of Heho in Kalaw township. There are two units (the Linwe Formation and the Taungmingyi Member) in Ye-ngan township and a further unit (the Wabya Formation) in Pindaya township. LITHOLOGY Black limestone, slaty shale, slaty mudstone, minor quartzose sandstone, phacoidal limestone & siltstone, purple mediumbedded siltstone & shale. Terrane/fold belt of Pangpet (Fe–U– Cu) (Mine) is Sibumasu Terrane and Host rocks/(ages) is Plateau Limestone (Devonian–Triassic) underlain by rhyolitic body. Ore mineralogy is Limonite, hematite and Deposit type is Residual and possibly IOCG? Bender (1983).
