It is a gray to dark gray neutral plutonic rock composed mainly of plagioclase, amphibole, and pyroxene. The color is usually gray-green, gray, black, or indigo-gray. The chemical composition of diorite is neutral, which is halfway between gabbro and granite, and the silicate content is in the range of 52~63% by weight.
