The Maymyo Dolomite Formation hosts the carbonate-hosted zinc–lead mineralization. The host sequence is a fossiliferous, dolomitic limestone unit. Solitary corals and a bryozoan, Fenestella sp., are mostly brecciated but found as fairly large fragments. Colonial corals are also observed in the dolomitic limestone unit in the area surrounding the mineralized zone (Swe Zin Thant 2009).
