"The Modi Taung Gold Mine is located east of the Sagaing Fault about 75 km NE of Nay Pyi Taw, the new Myanmar capital in Central Myanmar (Mitchell et al. 2004; Erskine 2014; Traynor 2015; Traynor et al. 2015; Tin Tun 2016). The veins are massive, laminated book and ribbon, or brecciated gold-quartz veins, hosted largely by the north–south-trending mudstone, pebbly wackes and sandstone sequence of the Mergui Group. The veins carry high-grade gold, typically between 10 and 300 g t−1 Au (sometimes up to 3000 g t−1 Au)."
